Welcome to a unique slice of American history right in your own backyard! As the spring season unfurls its vibrant hues and warm breezes, the End of The Oregon Trail Visitor Center in historic Oregon City invites you and your family to step back in time. Imagine walking through our meticulously tended Heritage Garden, where heirloom plants that pioneers cultivated in the 1860s bloom anew. This living exhibit is not just a feast for the eyes but a captivating lesson in history.

While the garden offers a serene glimpse into the past, stepping into our Interpretative Center will transport you further into the rich tapestry of Oregon City’s and the Oregon Trail’s significant history. Open Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm and Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, with last admission at 3:00 pm, the center provides an immersive experience that is both educational and fascinating. After exploring the exhibits, don’t forget to visit our gift shop. Here, you’ll find unique treasures and souvenirs that echo the spirit of the Oregon Trail, perfect for remembering your visit or for gifting to history buffs.

Moving beyond the physical journey to the trail’s end, the Visitor Center proudly presents an array of enriching educational content designed to engage and enlighten. Through our partnership with local libraries, visitors can check out Cultural Passes for complimentary admission to the Interpretive Center. For those who prefer to explore from home, our virtual content dives deep into the Oregon Trail’s history. This includes the introduction of our new film, “Oregon’s First People,” and three detailed history talks available for online viewing, featuring engaging stories and insights from the trail’s history.
