Hello! I'm Michelle Woster, your new friend and local area expert.
Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Oregon City is where I call home. My husband and I have raised four sons and adopted a daughter here. We now have the pleasure of watching our grandchildren grow up here as well.
I enjoy spending time with family, staying active in my church and community, and getting to know new people. I love all things active and busy – hockey, football, traveling and learning new things.
About Oregon City
Oregon City, Oregon, holds a special place in history as the first city in the United States west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated. It is located on the Willamette River, just south of Portland, offering a blend of historic charm and modern amenities. This scenic city is known for its rich history, which is prominently displayed throughout the community, including at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. This educational landmark provides insights into the pioneer experience and Oregon City’s pivotal role in the westward expansion. Additionally, the city's numerous historic buildings, some dating back to the mid-19th century, add to its quaint and timeless appeal.
Today, Oregon City is a vibrant community that prides itself on a strong local economy and a high quality of life. The downtown area has undergone significant revitalization, featuring a mix of unique shops, restaurants, and cafes that cater to both residents and visitors. The city's commitment to community is evident in its numerous parks and recreational areas, including the expansive Clackamette Park, which offers facilities for picnicking, boating, and sports, along with a beautiful view of the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette rivers.
Sustainability and environmental stewardship are key components of life in Oregon City. The community has made substantial investments in green initiatives, including extensive public transportation options and initiatives to preserve its natural landscapes. The Willamette Falls, one of the largest waterfalls by volume in the Northwest, is a stunning local highlight that the city is actively working to make more accessible to the public while protecting its beauty and historical significance. Oregon City’s blend of historical preservation, community engagement, and environmental consciousness makes it a uniquely attractive place to live and visit.
